To which Gregory Lynn replied:

And quite probably very true. Who else would it be? One would
presume it would be someone firmly in the pro-Dumbledore camp and yet
not on the front line. Most of the others in the Order are aurors or
teachers. Arthur has the ministry experience, so why not? Of course
it could be some other administrative person or other not on either
side but I would imagine that Dumbledore will be able to virtually
hand pick who he wants.

Now me (bowlwoman):

I have to say it's likely that Arthur would be at the forefront,
assuming that Dumbledore gets to choose (or has a major say in the
selection). Does anyone know how the MoM is selected?

The only problem I have with the theory is that I'm a staunch
supporter of Imperio'd!Arthur, so this might be a drawback to having
Arthur in the hotseat. Having Fudge in Malfoy's pocket (but still
making decisions of his own free will) was bad enough, but can you
imagine an Imperio'd MoM? I would love to get some more Weasley
backstory in the next book before the selection is made.

I wonder if Percy would remain Junior Assistant to the Minister if
Arthur becomes MoM!
