Now for my reply:

Here is the thing I do not think that Sirius was that horrible towards Kreacher and here is why. We never saw him physically abuse Kreacher or blame him for anything. For the most part he let Kreacher take what he wanted and did not really question this. He also gave Kreacher credit for his actions. When Hermione said that if Kreacher was sent free that maybe he would be nicer that he is just ignorant and he is also unable to work due to amount of stress he is under. Sirius counteracts this by saying that Kreacher has more power and knowledge than one thinks.

Perhaps I'm just crazy but the way I see it is Sirius treats Kreacher with the same lack of respect that Kreacher treats Sirius. Kreacher did not want Sirius to come home and regarded him as a traitor to the house and to his beloved mistress. Sirius is a passionate person we know this we see this in his actions and words. Of course he isn't going to be exactly nice to Kreacher but I seriously doubt he would be nice to his mother. However, I have a hunch that Sirius would be kind if Dobby were his house elf.

We shall never forget Sirius Black....long live his memory!
