See I always thought some of the rules about using magic out of
school did not apply when Lily went to Hogwarts, didn't Petunia
mention in PS/SS that Lily use to come home turning tea cups into
frogs, or something like that? Or does that rule only apply in front
of Muggle families the students live with, but then what about those
families proud to have a wizard or witch in the family are those
students, like Harry, not allowed to do their magic work in their
houses?
That is why I thought one time they could, so Lily talked, and talked
about her school and even with seething and glaring Petunia would
pick up a few things here and there such as who Dumbledore was, and
what the Dementors could do, I am sure that must have been taught in
one of Lily's DADA classes. So maybe the parents weren't squibs but
the rules banning underage magic out of school did not exist either,
it is possible.
