I haven't read the book yet so maybe my idea makes no sense, but
from what I read about Petunia's blood protecting Harry, maybe
Voldemort can't kill Harry because he carries Harry's blood inside
him, which actually protects Harry. (Hope you get the idea).
I mean that if Petunia's blood offers Harry a protection, then
Voldemort's blood (which was Harry's, which comes from Lily,
Petunia's sister) at least must stop Voldemort from killing Harry.
Voldemort is now a potential protector of Harry's life. Don't know
if it would work the other way around (Harry can't kill Voldemort),
which makes me believe that the end has less to do with Killing, and
more with some sort of redemption or change of heart (a metaphorical
death).
I posted this idea earlier but I haven't read anyone comment about
it, so I don't know if this is a plausible idea. Remember I haven't
read OoP yet...
