Me: 
I had always believed it would be something like this.  I kept 
thinking of Oedipus Rex when it comes to prophicies.  When he was 
born, it was prophisized that Oedipus would murder his father and 
marry his mother.  In order to keep this from happening, he was taken 
into the wilderness and left to die.  He was found and brought up by 
someone else.  Later, as an adult, he went to the city .  Through 
different turns of events, he in fact did kill his father and marry 
his mother - he just had no clue that is who they were at the time.  
The fact that his father tried to thwart the prophecy is the very 
thing that made it come true.
