Jen D, wrote with great insight as she mourned:
>It's not only Harry that has been spared too much knowledge so that
he can have a happy childhood, it was us too.<
<snip, rearrange>
>>is it a limitation that you want to bang your head against a wall
each time you turn a page and another awful thing has happened? Is it
an indication that you should certainly be reading something less
challenging, say "Lemony Snicket?" Where everything comes out alright
in the end? How does one overcome all the horrible sadistic events?
How does one go on? How
does one go back and read the first 4 books without feeling an utter
sense of loss, loss, loss!!<<

Me, have a handle on things? Gosh you must be kidding Jen.
<sigh> Would it be too pathetic if I were to borrow some words of
wisdom ? – the very fact that we feel such pain is what marks us
as
human. As Rowling's fans, it is perhaps our greatest strength.
Afterall, who am I to argue with Dumbledore?

I was so distracted that for *days* I would just walk into walls.
Really. No kidding. You should have seen the pitying expression on
the faces of my non-HP friends, or heard the taunts about me trying
to get to platform 9 ¾ via the kitchen wall. They just didn't
get
it. The frustration. The depression. The awe.
I have no idea how to deal with it. I picked up PoA yesterday, and
nearly bawled. But with every read of OoP comes more acceptance. Who
knows, by the time book 6 comes out, the pounding in my heart might
even denote anticipation rather than dread. ;-) .

Errol.
Giving Jen a Hug and seriously thinking of starting a support group
for post OoP trauma victims
