I feel like a bit of an idiot now, since I was *just* struck by the 
idea of Sirius's Animagus form being a foreshadowing of his death. I 
posted the theory perhaps 2 minutes ago, and then I discovered your 
much more eloquently written post on the same topic. Sorry Wendy - 
there has been so many posts recently; it's a tad hard to keep pace 
with the sheer volume of them. My apologies to everyone for blabbing 
on about stuff already discussed.
