A)   Sirius wasn't sent to Azkaban for the Potters' deaths - he was sent 
there for the "death" of Pettigrew.

B)   Question: When did Snape "know" that Black was innocent?  He's been TOLD 
- they are not necessarily the same thing.  Has he seen Wormtail alive?  We 
don't know yet.

C)   Given Sirius' behavior in school, AND his family connections, I can 
definitely see where people would have little trouble believing that Sirius was a 
Death Eater...
