That's possible, but I am still not convinced. St. Mungo's was 
rather, um, less than forthcoming about a certain Mr. Crouch (IIRC) 
and it's also Lucius Malfoy's favorite charity.

I believe that Gran Longbottom uses the Stiff Uppah Lip as a cover. 
It's one thing to keep one's emotions to oneself, another to make 
Neville go off to school with an unsuitable, hand-me-down wand, or 
always belittling him. This doesn't mean Gran L. is in league with 
The Dark Side, but that she's a mean ol' coot at a minimum.

He DID get sent a Remembrall, and his forgetfulness (all those 
passwords!) is something of a minor legend.
