Well, it wasn't Neville alone who destroyed the prophecy. Harry 
grabbed him on his robes, to help him upstairs, instead of just using 
the "Finite" spell, like Lupin did later. If he hadn't, the prophecy 
would never have fallen out of Neville's pocket. Of course than he 
kicked it away, but he couldn't control his legs. If anything, I 
would say Harry is more responsible for the destroying of the 
prophecy, than Neville is.
