Well, we know that Jo has written the last chapter of the 7th book,
and the last word is 'scar.' Even though she said it's subject to
change, we know the scar must be important up until the last book. I
thought the exact opposite about the scar linking Harry to LV. Since
it does link them together, I thought that if Harry kills LV, then
the scar will disappear, and the bond is broken. The same with LV
killing Harry.. if LV succeeds, then although he has no physical way
of showing it, the bond will be broken between them.

About the gleam in DD's eye.. I don't know if this has been
discussed here since I'm new, but a theory I tend to go along with
is this: In the first book, Hagrid told Harry that he didn't know if
Voldemort had enough human left in him to die. Now, however, the
very blood running through his veins is Harry's blood. Possibly
Dumbledore sees that now Voldemort can be killed, because of his
human blood? And it might also have to do with the prophesy.. it
can't be good that LV has Harry's blood, when Harry is the one who's
supposed to kill him.
