I *finally* finished OOTP last night (not of my own wishes, my
release-weekend was totally full...grrr)...and i LOVED it! I've only had
time to read through a few of the digests (i've been ignoring them until i
finished)...but i had a few replies/questions already - so i figured i'd
jump right in before i leave work for the day.

No, actually he couldn't. If you'll recall in POA when she made a prophecy
to Harry, she didn't recall it afterwards. So i doubt she has a clue what
she told Dumbledore that day, unless he repeated it to her. And Voldemort
obviously isn't going to go asking Dumbledore what the contents were ;)

You know what stumped me? When Dobby came into the DA to warn them all that
Umbridge was coming, he was wearing all of the hats/socks then...and
Hermione didn't even notice! Of course, she was a bit preoccupied with
escaping at the time...but she's not one to not notice something like that.
She saw the trapdoor that Fluffy was standing on afterall!

Nope, that can't be it, because Luna said she's been able to see them ever
since she arrived at Hogwarts.

It's not that he didn't WANT to make him a prefect. He explained that he
simply knew that Harry had enough to worry with already and he didn't want
to add anymore responsibility to his already-too-full plate. I think Harry
would make an excellent DADA teacher after he graduates Hogwarts and defeats
Voldemort :) (yes i am being the eternal optimist here)

I hadn't thought of that, but i bet you're right! I wonder also if many
parents will opt not to send their children back to school now that
Voldemort is back? Hmmmm...
And now for a couple of questions i've come up with...
1) According to what the prophesy said, can Harry ONLY be killed by
Voldemort? Not anyone else? If so, then he would be fearless around the
Death Eaters and anyone else from now on wouldn't he? Or am i misreading it?
2) Do you think a pensieve can carry on a person's memories after they die?
Did Sirius have one? I seem to recall Harry seeing one (or a pot that looked
like one) in Sirius' house...but i can't recall clearly.
And this isn't a question, but just something i noticed. I think it's
interesting how people cried at different scenes in the book. Personally, i
didn't cry at Sirius' death (and yes, i am a crier). I didn't cry until
Harry found the mirror that Sirius had given to him. What a tragedy that he
never used it while he had the chance *sigh*
I will certainly be writing more lately...
