then Paige Woods' Replied:
>>>Whoa, very interesting! I've never thought about it that way! but now that you've brought it up, I can see it being like a snake. It was always Harry saying it looked like a lightning bolt unless I missed something. As for what it could mean. My guess is that it is another connection with Voldemort. I mean his animal is a snake. <<<
And now Odile (that would be me, slinking back onto the list after finally finishing OOP):
I think Harry's scar is a lightening bolt because IMNSHO:
The Four Houses represent the four elements, with Gryffindor as Fire and Slytherin as Water;
Harry is the quintessential Gryff;
Voldy is the quintessential Slyth;
When fire and water collide - as in a rainstorm, as when Voldy attacked wee Harry - there is lightening. Voila! A lightening bolt-shaped scar.
But what I would like to know is: *where* is the scar situated on his forehead? I get so annoyed watching TCTMNBN, where they have it off to the side. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be where his "third eye" is? No doubt this has been hashed, rehashed and cornbeef hashed a million times on this list...
Odile, finally going home for the day!!
