   The fact that Snape never tried to disguise his pensieve use and 
didn't hesitate to leave Harry alone with it suggest to me that 
meddling with a person's pensieved memories is such an appalling 
breech of wizarding conduct that it never occured to Snape, a former 
DE yet! that even the hateful Harry Potter would do such a thing. His 
reaction certainly seems as disbelieving as it is furious. I'm really 
surprised Lupin thought he could make Snape overlook this. Maybe by 
appealing to the sense of duty he recognizes even if Sirius doesn't.
