I've only finished reading OOP for the first time last
night. This timing thing sorta jumped out at me, but
maybe it's really nothing.
On December 25, we know that Harry et al. visited Mr.
Weasley at Saint Mungo's. In a nearby bed was a man
who, Mr. Weasley explained, had been bitten by a
werewolf:
"A werewolf?" whispered Mrs. Weasley, looking alarmed.
"Is he safe in a public ward? ..."
"It's two weeks till full moon," Mr. Weasley reminded
her quietly.

Here's the "timing thing":
If full moon, by Mr. Weasley's reckoning, is two weeks
from that day, December 25, then it would be full moon
on January 8.
According to the OOP timeline on Steve's heroic HP
Lexicon, Harry et al. returned to school on January 6
- and they were escorted by Remus Lupin! I didn't
catch any references to his looking peaked, as he
usually seems to when it nears full moon time. And
wouldn't he have been in too weak a state to put up
much of a fight to protect the kids against DEs or
another such threat? And apologies for not
remembering, but as the full moon lasts for a couple
of days, does Lupin change only once, when the moon is
at its fullest, or does he change for a couple of
days?
Odile, who apologizes profusely if she missed this in
the million-bazillion posts that have been posted in
the past week. ^_^
