I was curious so I looked it up. Umbridge made a perculiarly slight 
coughing noise at the moment Macgonagall said this. Could it have 
been a "shows what you know." signal.
Did Macgonagall say "three years" as a diversion from what she really 
*did* know?
Or did it means something else.
I am a bit certain that the cough is relevant. What does eveyone else 
think?
