I think that Voldemort didn't leave Harry's body because he was afraid of 
death, he left because Harry was feeling love, and Dumbledore already told 
us that Voldemort can't feel love.  Although, wouldn't it be hilarious if 
Voldemort fell in love in the last book.  That would make one hell of a 
changed man!
