I think despite the fact that Harry had an awful year he does have 
some happy memories.  All of this work with the D.A. for one. Also, 
he can use memories from earlier years. As for his Patronus, I think 
it will always be a stag.  During Harry's DADA OWL the Patronus that 
he produced was a stag.  Since this event was after Snape's memory 
scene I think it supports the idea that the stag will remain.
