Hmm.  I think if Sirius would have been in the article than it have 
been a major talk of the wizarding world whether Sirius is innocent 
or not.  

Neville did not know about Sirius being innocent; he asks at the end 
Harry who that person was who just got killed.  

Sirius's name is never cleared in the book.  I hope JKR makes up for 
that in the later books, because he deserves it.
