Hi everyone! My name is Michal and I've been obsessed with these
books forever, even if I've only just found this wonderful group. I
tried to post a few times the other day, but my posts were
undeliverable. I think the problem is solved now, so I'm trying my
hand at a question about Hermione :)

Rowling mentioned in an interview that she doesn't like that people
are never concerned about Hermione. She thinks Hermione has a lot of
vulnerablity. Well, I was just wondering. When Harry talks about the
room of requirement, Hermione is worried about it until the moment
Harry mentions that Dumbledore knows about it, at which point
Hermione no longer argues at all.

I think, especially in light of the end of OoP (we find that
Dumbledore can, in fact, make mistakes), that we should watch
Hermione carefully, as her willingness to follow Dumbledore blindly
might cause a problem for her at some point. I don't know what kind
of problem it could cause, and I'm by no means claiming that
Dumbledore could be evil (NOT a theory I believe), but I do think
it's dangerous that such a clever girl doesn't seem to be able to
question Dumbledore. I mean, yes, it's good that she is able to
question other authority (Umbridge, Fudge, etc.), but she thinks
Dumbledore is infallible, and that worries me.

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts about this, although I know
it's hard to reply to all the threads going on here! :)

Thanks for reading,
Michal
