OoP: Sirius as close as we're going to get to a gay character?

I concur.  I've had this thought about Sirius before.  And I think
that if kids are old enough to know that people fall in love with
people of the opposite sex, they're old enough to know that other
people fall in love with people of the same sex.  Depending on how
they're raised, though, they don't.  So it doesn't surprise me that
this hasn't come up yet in the books, since they're from Harry's PoV
and he might not even know what he was looking at.  I think sexuality
is going to become much more important by book 7.  I think Harry is
facing big moral tests, one involving Snape and I suspect another
involving Ron, and I further suspect that *at least* one of these will
touch on romance, past or present.  

Of course the other candidate for a gay character is Lupin.  I would
love it if Lupin and Black were romantically attracted back in school,
but I ha' me' doubts.
