Ooh! Wait for me! :D I've been doing a lot of thinking (when I've had time)
in the last few days, and I think S.U.P.I.N.E. and PossiblySlytherin!Percy
is good for my thoughts. I can see Percy not being a spy, too... but I NEED
what is left of my sanity. This might help save it. :D It's not such much
I'm in denial as I don't want to believe that Percy would just do a 180 on
his family out of hunger for power and prestige. I do see it.

I agree with the person who said Percy would be the sort of person who
doesn't really want to do anything with the power, just posess it. (At
least, that's what my memory tells me. I apologize if I'm wrong, and please
feel free to lash me with a wet noodle and correct me.) IMHO, those are the
most dangerous sorts of people, because they can be swayed and bought off
(sound like anyone we know?).

As for sorting, I believe that Percy, while posessing many traits for
Slytherin house, was sorted into Gryffindor correctly. I think the hat's
track record speaks for itself when choosing the correct house. While we
have seen that the hat most likely bases the student's house partly on
personal preferences, I believe that if the hat knew that there was
absolutely no way that the house was good for the student, the hat would
override the student, so to speak. Otherwise, I agree that the strongest
personal characteristic is the basis for house placement. (Do we have an
acronym for Slytherinish!Percy? Any brave volunteers? ;))

Not to mention I think it would take nerves of steel to row like that with
Mr. Weasley (who sounds like my dad... doesn't often get mad, but when he is
mad, he is LIVID!)

Just my two cents,
Liz
Who can never remember how many letters are in posess (possess? posses?).
