Well, after having read (or having tried to read--sheesh!) The
Chymical Wedding, and if JKR is indeed following it somewhat, I do
believe that Harry will be alive at the end of book seven.
However, things are not going to end the way he would have liked.
I see him having to either leave just Hogwarts (his home) or leave
the magical community all together. For the good of the order.
Scenario: Lily and James were working on something at the
department of mysteries that utilized their respective talents in
charms and transfiguration. Didn't Lucius make reference to Harry's
parents sticking their noses into things/places they didn't belong.
Sorry, can't find the exact line--time to re-read the books. I can
see whatever they were working on ultimately being the undoing of
The Big V. Harry will then have to be the guardian or "gate" keeper
of this phenomenon. Giving up his given career choice (auror or
teacher.)
I believe Trelawney may have actually given another correct
prediction. Harry will live to a ripe old age, be minister of magic
and have 12 children (there's that number again.) Also, remember
Ron reading Harry's tea leaves in POA. Bowler hat. Hmmm....
In GOF at the end of the world cup game, Bulgaria ultimately lost.
But, as Harry said, Krum ended it on his own terms. I still think
that's a message from JKR on ultimately how the series will end.
Speculation?
Well, that's today's theory. I do change them daily, so stay tuned.
Toodles,
Toad
P.S. The king in queen in Chymical wedding...Ron and Hermione?
