Dumbledore and others know what the prophecy says, but Voldemort does
not. For all Voldie knows, it could contain very valuable and detailed
information as someone suggested. I could indicate when and/or how
Harry is vulnerable, or it could give detailed information on how
Harry will defeat Voldemort which would allow Voldemort time to
prepare and protect himself.

Also, the prophecy does contain valuable information that is important
to both Harry and Voldemort.

I say, to my best ability to interpret, that-

One of them MUST die! They can't both just agree to forget the whole
thing let by-gone be by-gone, and go their separate way. Fate decrees
that they can not both live, one absolutely MUST die.

And MUST die at the HANDS OF THE OTHER. It's down to Harry and
Voldemort, no hope of Dumbledore defeating and more importantly
killing Voldemort, it must be Harry. And now Voldemort knows he can't
send someone to assasinate Harry, only he, Voldemort, can kill him.

" ...neither can live while the other survives..."; very mysterious
statement. It has some obvious superficial meaning, but I struggle to
comprehend the true deeper meaning, and of course, I'm sure that's
exactly when JKR wants me to do.

Just a thought.
