Mlle Bienvenu: Someone (I'm sorry, I don't remember who) did a very
interesting (and enlightening) breakdown of the name Mimbulus
Mimbletonia on the Psychic Serpent Group. This is what they came up
with:
>mim (greek) to copy or to imitate
>ble (latin bulus) to cause or result in
>tonia female varient of Tony - worthy of praise
>OR more likely
>ton (indo-european tonus) thundering
>ia (greek) an abnormal state or diseased
>mimbletonia = to imitate resulting in an abnormal
>state of thundering(foolish courage)
They then mentioned that everyone who was sprayed by stinksap
experienced excessive foolhardy behavior and also was mezmerized by
The Veil...(Hermione and Ron, who were not sprayed since they were in
the prefects compartment, were scared by the veil, not mesmerized.
Anyway, I thought it was worth mentioning here, since I feel it
explains a lot. I would love it if the original poster stepped
forward and explained it :D
