Actually, Voldemort is a half-blood. His mother was a witch, and I assume that's where he gets his lineage dating back to Slytherin.

Still, his hell-bent attitude on racial purity is quite interesting, and parallels on Hitler himself. Hitler was, from my understanding, at least part Jewish. Some short, dark-haired, greasy git. Not the 'blonde-haired, blue-eyed, athletic, uber-Christian that he thought was 'da bomb'.

The similarities aren't an accident, I think.
