My apologies if I am repeating old posts. With all of the discussion
about the Black family tree and whose named after stars or not, I
looked up some basic names on the net to find:

Sirius-means scorching-is the single brightest star and one of the
closest stars

Regulus - means Prince or heart of the lion-is the 25th brightest star

Bellatrix -means warrioress, is the 22nd brightest star

Phineas - mouth of brass (Greek), oracle (Hebrew)

Nigellus - Champion (latin)

Narcissa - daffodil (Hmmm-should she actually be in family tree with
Petunia and Lily? If her maiden name was Evans, then she is related
to Black by marriage, too, but on father's side (Molly Weasley is
related by marriage on mother's side) To steal a line from Olivander-
Curious, very curious.

Draco-constellation-the dragon

Andromeda-constellation-Ethiopian (Black) princess

James - supplanter, to replace or undermine, also the heel (fits him
at 15-LOL)

Harry - protector of the house/home, army commander (Dumbledore's
army reunite!)

Ronald - rules with counsel, mighty ruler (He just may be Head Boy)

Hermione - Wellborn, of stone (Greek-daughter of Helen of Troy)

Neville - new village, new town, more recently "new" (is he our new
protector)

Dudley - from the people's clearing/meadow (sounds pretty Squibbish)

I really enjoyed looking these up and more, also thought the results
were cool enough to share.

Susan
