Me again:
Having posted that last night I then went and checked PoA and GoF re
Butterbeer (I know, I need to get out more...)
Apparently it can be served either hot or cold (the first time Harry
drinks it in the 3 Broomsticks it is served hot). And yes, it does
contain alcohol - Winky gets drunk on it frequently - I seem to remember
Ron saying "it's not strong that stuff" and Dobby replying "it is for a
elf".
Still think it sounds yummy anyway!- the buttered ale sounds pretty
good!
Beth, who might actually win a drinking game if it were against a house
elf....
