What? I think this is absolutely and to 100% explained. The prophecy 
is reason enough for Voldemort to kill Harry.

Wasn't it explained in book 1?

I also don't understand why somebody really wants to have explained 
everything. I think it is MUCH more fun to have enough things to 
speculate about. OOTP wasn't the last book in the series, there are 
still two more two answer some questions. And IMO it was really a lot 
that was answered in OOTP.
