ORIGINAL SIN
Our Responsibility Is Given Inheritance Never Abandon Love Snakes
Imbibe Nihilism

Over 1000 years ago at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,
perhaps in the Chamber of Secrets, Salazar Slytherin created the
veiled gateway. Its purpose, to harness the energy of the immortal
soul and fuel his own power. The soul of the Victim passing through
the gateway was separated from the body, as in death. However, in the
gateway the soul was imprisoned, never moving beyond, and the body
continued to 'live' as the undead. Thus were born the Dementors: 'de
en mort'.

There are indeed worse things than death.

Salazar's supporters helped him to feed off the non death of
innocents, they all wanted to eat at his table.
The perfect delicacy for pure blood wizards - muggles.

However, his work was discovered by the other founders of the school
and when Salazar would not forgo his evil invention battle ensued.
Overcome by the other three Salazar fled. Powerful defences were put
in place so that he could never return.

No one could fathom the dark magic of the gateway. Fearful for the
souls within, it was not destroyed but transferred to the safety of
the Ministry of Magic and entrusted to the Department of Mysteries,
where it was hoped that one day it could be safely opened and the
victims could finally travel on as it is meant they should.

Constantly pursued by Aurors Salazar was never again able to regain
his influence or develop his evil strategy, nor could his supporters
openly assist him, although they kept faith, bad faith.

Intent on revenge and driven by thwarted ambition Salazar was not
prepared to die, when his body failed him he used his stolen power to
transfer his soul to share the body of his heir, leaving a mark in the
shape of a snake.

The heir carrying the mark was named the 'Dark Lord'. Generation to
generation the snake was passed on.

After each successive transfer however, the Dark Lord became less
powerful, perhaps the process itself was at fault or simply the
obsession with pure blood weakened the Slytherin bloodline.

After 1000 years there remained only one descendent and she was
subject to a prophesy that she would never conceive from a pure blood.
In desperation she sought out a muggle partner as like a pure blood
aristocrat as she could find and so Tom Riddle was born. His mother
lived long enough to pass the snake to him, perhaps when she named
him, and died.

The Dark Lord had not been able to enter Hogwarts since its initial
protection from him. Ironically Tom Riddle, with his muggle blood,
passed undetected and was able to open, once again, the Chamber of
Secrets. The second irony of his muggle blood was that for the first
time in a thousand years the heir was equal to Slytherin himself, he
styled himself Voldemort.

At Hogwarts, Dumbledore became suspicious, once again the Dark Lord
could not complete his plans there. After leaving he tirelessly built
his empire and swore never to be vulnerable to the death of his
bloodline again, he believed he had become immortal. His powers grew
and so did his following.

A terrible prophesy was overheard, and reported back to Voldemort, of
the coming of 'the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord'.
Acting in haste and panic Voldemort attacked Harry Potter, but the
curse backfired, his dark magic encountered a powerful force for good,
an older magic that even muggles can access. In this conflict the Dark
Lord was seriously injured, his power diminished. Harry Potter was
also scarred for he now carried the mark of the snake, the mark of the
heir of Slytherin, the mark of the Dark Lord. More sinister still, in
that fateful moment, Slytherin's spirit was in 'essence divided' and
now half resides in Harry. Two now carry the Slytherin ancestry. Two
alike as twins, both half bloods, muggle raised, given as babies, the
mark and the inheritance that carries, as their mother died, passed to
them without consent, unasked, unwished for.

Voldemort's return to power, aided by blood taken from Harry deepened
that kinship. This blood may be the key to the survival of Harry's
immortal soul. When Harry comes of age the evil within will be
unleashed and he must conquer it and its twin which resides with what
ever remains of Tom Riddle.

and the evidence mi lud.....

For the Salazar's did something awful theory
The sorting hat states that differences between Hogwarts founders
become worse sometime after the formation of the houses, so it isn't
simply the pure blood issue that they fall out over having agreed to
disagree by creating houses.

No heir of Slytherin has ever apparently been to Hogwart's until Tom
arrives (or else the Chamber would have been opened before)

The gateway is ancient (?1000 years old)

For the Gateway as soul eater theory
Harry, Luna and Neville (who can see Thestrals) can hear voices beyond
the veil but so can Ginny (who can't see Thestrals but was possessed
by the Dark Lord). Hemione and Ron can't.

Bellatrix screams in triumph as Sirius passes through the veil.

Lupin tells Harry Sirius is 'gone' and that he 'can't come back,
because he's d_' but doesn't say he's dead, Harry says that.

Where is the body?

What are the Dementors? Why are they Voldemort's natural allies?

There are worse things than being dead.

Why call the supporters 'Death Eaters'? Why Voldemort (stealer of
Death)? This is more than immortality of one but abuse of the process.

For the heir carries Slytherin's essence theory and Harry has it too now
Harry's scar is a snake (interpretation, NOT canon) and Harry shares
Voldemort's powers
Voldemort says 'I am much, much more than than a man' GoF Chapter 1
Dumbledore's silver instrument 'in essence divided' observation OoP
That Tom Riddle is half muggle and only something really important
could have driven his mother to a muggle for a father.
Harry feels the snake within several times in OoP "Harry remembered
the feeling that a dormant snake had risen in him ready to strike"
When Dumbledore is challenged to kill Harry, Harry feels - "he was
locked in the coils of a creature with red eyes, so tightly bound that
Harry did not know where his body ended and the creature's began: they
were fused together.."

For the whole theory as a piece
It makes sense! The ancient morality that we are born with good and
evil and we get to choose and we can only become ourselves by
conquering the evil within. That the evil is inherited from our past
and although born in innocence we learn the ways of the world. This
way Harry can kill Voldemort without necessarily killing Tom Riddle,
another innocent.

OK now rip it apart......
