While I wouldn't put grave robbing past the Goblins, it's possible
that the Goblins at Gringotts were hired by the Egyptian wizarding
government to assist them in getting the treasure from cursed tombs,
and Gringotts get a share of the booty for their assistance.
As far as grave robbing, where do you think most of the native
art/treasure exhibits come from?
Just a thought.
