I have often thought it quite interesting that Fawkes takes such a shine to
Harry, not just when Harry is loyal to Dumbledore in the Chamber of Secrets,
but when Harry's in the office. Fawkes doesn't climb into just anyone's lap
-- but he climbs into Harry's. I think Harry will be Fawkes next master
after Dumbledore, which makes me wonder how the haughty Hedwig will take it
when there's a phoenix in Harry's life?
