Since the pensieves substance was mercury-like it would also reflect

OOooh, that's a loverly idea. Here's my new theory about the 
pensieve: if he is in a pensieve, he finds out something that looks 
bad for Dumbledore or one of the other teachers. Harry then rushes 
into Dumbledore's office and demands and explaination. Thus the "I'm 
going to tell you everything" line.

Rowen, who apologize because she now thinks there was a serious canon 
error in her last post.
