now me: The D.E. circle was in a particuilar order, as you read when 
Voldemort paused where there were people missing (e.g. Snape). He new 
who was supposed to be filling those gaps, which means he knew who he 
was speaking to (i.e. Malfoy). Well that is at least the way I saw it 
anyhow.
