Malfoy could also be donating as a way to keep himself
in the good graces of the wizarding world. This way he
could prove to those who doubt his loyalty that he is
a good wizard who would never of supported Lord
Voldemort. A fact in which we know isn't true because
he is a very loyal DE, but to those that are gullible
enough to believe that he was underneath a spell this
would just prove it to him. Plus maybe the wizards pay
taxes and this is just tax deductible.
