Dumbledore didn't need Snape to make the connection between the dark
mark getting clearer and what it meant. He knew WHY Snape's mark was
getting clearer. It didn't mean that Dumbledore also had the mark at
all, but only that he didn't need Snape to tell him WHY Snape's mark was
getting clearer.
Its really a stretch to think that Dumbledore could ever be a DE. It's
about as likely as James Potter being a DE.
