Oh, I know!  Astral projection!  That's how Dumbledore could see it 
all but have no time to do anything!

What are the rules for astral projection?  On "Jackie Chan" (yeah, 
my kids like it, OK?) the person can travel and observe but cannot be 
seen or heard and cannot affect anything physically (obviously).

Maybe that's how Dumbledore finds out a lot of what's going on at 
Hogwarts, too.
