My book preference go by this order: PoA, GoF, SS/PS, and CoS.
I love PoA because we experience character development; we learn more about what happened the night of James and Lily's death; we are introduced to Lupin and Sirius; we find out one reason out of my many reasons, I'm sure, for Snape to be a jerk; Hermione's "Bad Day" in which she slaps Malfoy (classic moment); all of the Shrieking Shrack scene; all of the Time Turner scene; and for those subtle H/H moments ;-).
My least favorite is CoS because I don't know. I just don't feel as though there is much going on even though there is. I feel like there are parts that can be skipped. Which sucks because according to JKR CoS has clues to the rest of the series! It drives me crazy because I can't find anything!
