Harry and Morality

This thread petered out a few days ago, but I'd just like to add the 
following:
 
Harry's morality must be viewed as a developing thing. At age 11, all 
he knew of authority was the Dursleys, who were idiots to be 
despised. Over the past 4 years at Hogwarts, he's come quite far. In 
GoF, he hardly broke rules at all. It seems Lupin's comment in PoA 
really made an impression. A kid who learns to respect rules in 
adolescence after the poor start he got as a child - well, who can 
complain?
