Illustrations on the covers

I was just looking over all the previous covers to see how many clues 
indeed lie in the illustrations (I'm looking at the hardback US 
versions) to see whether or not my ideas about OOP illustrations are 
really all that important.

I've come to the conclusion that most of them are relevant.
And we get to see Ron and Hermione in color on book 2 and 3 
respectively.


However, book 1 is a bit confusing.
Does anyone know who the person in the nightdress with the candle is 
supposed to be?
