If indeed the corridor is St. Mungo's, would that mean Harry visits it early in 
the book and has continual nightmares, or do these nightmares deal more with 
what he fears may happen if he's determined to be insane?

I'm a bit more concerned with the last line that refers to "unbearable 
sacrifice."  I read that description to my mom and even her eyes widened.  
She's bound and determined for sacrifice to be deemed unbearable it must be 
either Ron, Hermione, or Hagrid.
