Sorry to have to correct you, but I note that, in the diary, Riddle
confirms to then-headmaster Dippet that he lived in a Muggle
orphanage.  At some other point, perhaps more than one, he indicates
that his father abandoned him.  I suppose it's possible that he lived
with his father and grandparents at some time, but that seems
unlikely, especially since he was apparently unknown to the locals
when he appeared at the Riddle house and AKd everybody.
