Hi all!

   I was reading through all the posts regarding whether or not 
Harry is the heir of Gryffindor and a question came to mind. Do we 
know from canon that James Potter was a pure blood? Considering 
Ron's comment that if wizards had only married other wizards
(witches) that the WW would have died out, I think it's a reasonable 
question. If there is canon support for James being a pure blood, 
would someone please tell me where? For that matter would anybody 
like to comment on whether it even matters? Why or why not?
