Luna's name comes from "The Little White Horse", a book by Elizabeth 
Goudge that was one of JKR"s childhood Favorites.  I highly doubt she 
is a werewolf- but wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be some 
sort of wizarding royalty, a moon princess like in the book.
