Actually, JKR has stated in at least one interview (Barnes & Noble, 10/20/02)
that Hagrid was a Gryffindor - so sayeth the Lexicon.
Also - did Riddle call him "Rubeus" in the book? (It's been a while since
I've read that one.) I thought he called him "Hagrid".
