Susan again:
But I don't believe the sorting hat necessarily puts family members 
all in the same house.  I believe it evaluates each *individual* in 
determining where to place him or her.  Yes, all the Weasleys ended 
up in Gryffindor, and probably most of the Blacks in Slytherin.  But 
I still think the hat is "smart" enough to know when a member of a 
family comes along who's *different*....
