While researching for a chemistry paper on the internet today, I
came across some interesting information. The word "luna" is
actually an ancient alchemical term for silver. Silver symbolically
represents the moon in alchemy (as gold represents the sun), it's
alchemy symbol is a crescent moon. So there is still a connection to
the word luna and the moon, but this is the first I have realized
that luna literally means "silver" in alchemy and now I'm terribly
intrigued.

Will there be some connection between Luna and Lupin in the future?
Maybe that silver hand of Wormtail's was just a red-herring after
all? Just a curious thought with no basis in anything, really.

Incidentally, does anyone know the origins of the silver/werewolf
connection? Perhaps the importance of the moon to both silver and
werewolves is what led people to put them together.

Really just rambling....
