Ever hear of the saying, Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer?
Perhaps by keeping Draco as a "pet", hes in fact, ensuring that Lucious
continues
to think that Snape is still in the Dark Lords service, and that Lucious
sees Snapes
actions of being extreamly friendly to his son, as proof of that. Its part
of the "we
take care of our own syndrome."
