I also hope Neville with his Herbology knowledge will find a cure for
his parents. But I can't really understand why you want Rowling to
have him torture and kill Bellatrix... Can you really see Neville
doing such a thing? What makes the "good" guys different from
the "bad" guys is their CHOICES and what they DO. What makes
Dumbledore different from Voldemort is that he is not willing to use
any means to get what he wants. Because he's got integrity and
principles. Dumbledore chooses not to use his powers in certain
ways... If Neville is on the good side like him, he will not torture
anyone just to satisfy his need for revenge. That's not the way good
guys operate :-) Just my two knuts.
That's also the reason I got worried when Harry tried to "torture"
Bellatrix in the MoM. Harry needs to be careful and think through if
he really wants his hatred to control him like that. If he doesn't,
he might end up as Voldemort II...
