Feedback: some of what you posted had occurred to me, too, early on 
after reading the prophecy. I privately (in my head) ran it up the 
flagpole and watched it hang limply, not waving. Further readings of 
all five books further convinced me that the prophecy would not turn 
out to be so "tricky." The first reason is what I said in a recent 
post: that Dumbledore has interpreted the prophecy in a pretty 
straightforward way; I think we are meant to trust that he has enough 
experience with things like prophecies to have a pretty good notion 
of what this one means, and that he has enough integrity to have 
explained it to Harry (at least for the most part) honestly.
